Executive Committees

Executive Committee members play a vital role in assisting the State Officer Team achieve their targeted goals. The following requirements must be met for members to apply to become a  member of an Executive Committee:

  • Currently a member of an affiliated Educators Rising Chapter in Nebraska
  • Strong Educators Rising experience and knowledge about the organization

Committee members have the following responsibilities throughout the year:

  • Attend monthly meetings led members of the 2024-2025 State Officer Team
    • Public Relations – hosted virtually from 7-8pm CDT
      • Monday, November 18th
      • Monday, December 16th
      • Monday, January 27th
      • Monday, February 10th
    • Membership – hosted virtually from 5-6pm CDT
      • Sunday, November 24th
      • Sunday, December 15th
      • Sunday, January 19th
      • Sunday, February 9th
  • Carry out tasks assigned by their State Officer Mentor, including but not limited to creating marketing materials and social media content
  • Report directly to their assigned State Officer Mentor, sharing input and feedback
  • Attend the Fall Leadership Conference and State Leadership Conference
    • Fall Leadership Conference — Wednesday, October 30 at University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO)
    • State Leadership Conference — Wednesday, February 26 – Thursday, February 27th at Younes South in Kearney

Executive Committee members will receive their specific assignments at the mandatory Executive Committee Orientation hosted at the Fall Leadership Conference.

Failure to fulfill complete required tasks will result in the State Officer Coordinator contacting the teacher leader and possible removal from the Executive Committee.

We invite eligible students who are enthusiastic about contributing to the success of Nebraska Educators Rising to fill out an application! After a student has completed the application, a Personal Profile Form will be emailed to their teacher leader to complete. This form provides valuable insights into the student’s experience and ensures that the selected Executive Committee Members are well-suited for this important role. We appreciate your honesty and thoughtful consideration in completing this profile. Applicants will receive an email once both the application and the Personal Profile Form have been received to confirm their submission.

Applications and Personal Profile Forms must be submitted by October 1st, 2024; students will be notified of their acceptance by October 10th.
